Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
Stellar Dust, LLP., a California corporation doing business as Robot Sea Monster Games and RSM Studio ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with:
- Stellar Dust, our virtual reality game for Meta Quest devices, distributed through the Meta Horizon Store (and, if and when we release it, other platforms such as Steam); and
- our website at https://stellardust.rsm-studio.com/ and related mailing list (together with the game, the "Services").
By downloading, installing, or playing Stellar Dust, or by visiting our website or contacting us, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information From the Meta Platform
Stellar Dust runs on Meta Quest devices and uses the Meta/Oculus Platform SDK to verify that you own a valid license to the game (an "entitlement check") and to support platform features. Through this integration, we may receive:
- Your Meta user ID and display name;
- Entitlement and purchase-verification data confirming you own Stellar Dust (Meta processes the underlying payment; we do not receive your full payment card or billing details); and
- Platform social features you choose to use, such as friends lists or invitations, to the extent Meta makes this information available to the game for multiplayer matchmaking and social features.
Meta's own collection and use of your information is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy, available at https://www.meta.com/legal/quest/privacy-policy/.
1.2 Gameplay and Technical Information
When you play Stellar Dust, particularly in multiplayer matches, we and our service providers automatically collect information needed to run and improve the game, including:
- Match and session data, such as matchmaking requests, match results, in-game actions, and session length;
- Network and connection information (such as IP address) needed to establish and maintain real-time multiplayer connections;
- Device and technical information, such as headset model, operating system version, and hardware performance data; and
- Crash reports and diagnostic logs used to identify and fix bugs.
This information is processed with the help of the third-party service providers described in Section 2 below.
1.3 In-Experience Reporting Tool
Stellar Dust includes an in-experience reporting tool that lets you report other players for conduct that violates Meta's Code of Conduct in Virtual Experiences. If you submit a report, we collect your Meta account identifier, the reported player's Meta account identifier, your description of the incident, and any other information you choose to include. We use reports to review conduct in the game and to respond as required by Meta's platform policies.
1.4 Website and Contact Information
If you visit https://stellardust.rsm-studio.com/, contact us by email, or sign up to receive updates from us, we (or our hosting or email service providers acting on our behalf) may collect:
- Your email address and any other information you voluntarily submit through a sign-up or contact form; and
- Standard web log information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected by our website host.
Any information you choose to include when you contact us, such as your name, your email address, and the contents of your message.
If we send you marketing or update emails, every email will include an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe or ask us to delete your contact information using the information in Section 9.
1.5 Community and Social Platforms
Our website and in-game materials link to community spaces we do not operate, such as Discord, and to social platforms we may use to post updates. If you choose to visit or interact with us on those platforms, your information is additionally collected and handled under that platform's own privacy policy, not this one.
2. How Information Is Shared With Service Providers
We use third-party service providers to help operate Stellar Dust. These providers process information on our behalf, and their own privacy and data-handling practices also apply to information they process. As of the date of this Policy, these include:
- Meta Platforms, Inc. — platform services, entitlement checks, and account/social features described in Section 1.1.
- Photon Engine (Exit Games) — real-time networking used to relay gameplay data between players during multiplayer matches. Photon relays gameplay traffic needed to run a match; it is not used by us to collect broader personal information about you.
- PlayFab (Microsoft Corporation) — backend game services that may support features such as player data storage, matchmaking, or leaderboards.
- Unity Technologies — the game is built and hosted through Unity's cloud project tools, which may collect device and diagnostic information as part of Unity's build and services infrastructure.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or ad-tracking SDKs in Stellar Dust.
We may also share information: to comply with law, legal process, or government request; to enforce our policies and Meta's Code of Conduct; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Company, our players, or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, host, and maintain Stellar Dust, including multiplayer matchmaking and sessions;
- Verify entitlement to the game and support platform features;
- Diagnose and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues;
- Review and act on player conduct reports submitted through the in-experience reporting tool;
- Communicate with you, including responding to support requests and sending mailing list updates you've signed up for; and
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Services and comply with our legal obligations.
4. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected. Mailing list information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
5. Children's Privacy
Stellar Dust is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Meta Quest devices and the Meta Horizon Store have their own minimum age requirements, which we rely on in addition to this policy. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without the consent required by law, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the information in Section 9.
6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
6.1 All Users
Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights by contacting us using the information in Section 9. We will respond to verifiable requests within the time required by applicable law.
6.2 California Residents
As a California corporation, we support the rights afforded to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6.3 Users in the EEA, UK, and Other Regions
If you are located in a region with its own data protection law, such as the EU/EEA or UK General Data Protection Regulation, you may have additional rights, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Please contact us using the information in Section 9 to exercise any of these rights, and we will address your request in accordance with applicable law.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and information we collect may be processed or stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with data protection laws that differ from those in your home country.
